How Chirp uses data
Last updated: 19 September 2026
Chirp is designed to work without an account. Your quiz answers, bird progress and learning schedule stay on your device so the app can choose useful reviews and work offline.
What stays local
- Your learning progress, quiz history and preferences.
- Your selected age band. We store a broad band only, never a date of birth.
- Your reminder preferences and local notification schedule.
What may leave your device
- Technical crash reports sent to Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix failures.
- Advertising-related signals handled by Google only when advertising is allowed by the applicable age and privacy rules.
Chirp does not currently send product-usage analytics. It does not sell personal data, and it does not send your age band, consent choice, bird answers or recording identifiers to advertising or analytics services.
